Mentorship Program

The Byteworks workshop is a program for 4th grade through 12th grade students.

Participants will work on computer-related projects with guidance from Byteworks instructors, using Byteworks facilities. Projects will be chosen and completed by the students themselves, either solo or as part of a team.

Goal

The Mentorship Program's goal is to teach students various technical skills, as well as how to manage projects and define personal goals. This knowledge will be valuable to students in both personal and professional environments.

Program Outline

Students enrolled in the workshop will select a project and create a plan for successful completion. Project guidance, technical instruction and project evaluation will be provided by Byteworks volunteers.

Project Details

Mentorship projects will focus on technical skills as well as project management skills. Example projects would include, but not be limited to:

presentations and documents.

Eligibility

Students who complete the Earn A Computer classes are eligible to register for the Mentorship program. Obviously, the more mentors we have, the more students can participate. Children who are in 9th - 12th grade are also eligible, without needing to complete the Earn A Computer classes.

Mentorship Programs
