Visit this link to find out if you qualify for AT&T's $10/month DSL plan:
https://swot.sbc.com/swot/promoLanding.do
New URL: http://attsignup.com/att_order_10_dol.htm
If you do not qualify, then you will be given the option to order other, similar DSL plans.
AT&T will have sent you either a simple DSL modem ($49 offer) or a wireless router DSL modem ($79 offer). In both cases the instructions will be the same. There are five main steps with details to connect a DSL modem.
These instructions assume you have a Debian Etch Linux computer from ByteWorks running KDE as your desktop environment. (Other Linux computers will work, too, the screenshots will just look a little different. They key is to use Konqueror and not Firefox as the webbrowser to register with AT&T).
* Continue following the directions to register.
* At the end of the registration process, you will be given a username and password. Write down that information.
* Return to the modem tab, click the “Login” button, clear the existing username and password, and enter the new username and password.
* Contratulations! You are now free to browse the web.
